D is for Depression?

Last Sunday, we interviewed Choong Khuat Hock, from Kumpulan Sentiasa Cemerlang Sdn. Bhd. He is also the author of D is for Depression. As Andrew Lee couldn't make it to the show, he recommended we interview Hock instead. We asked Hock about what stocks he likes and what he thinks of the economic recovery.

Me and Hock after the live programming. Sasha Bashir shot this on her Blackberry after the program. Someone told me we both look alike. Do we?

Part 2

I've been reading his book. Very interesting correlation between the great depression and the current depression we're going through. You can find it in MPH.

The other stories we had on that day were a stock pick and the market summary.

There's no Stock Watch this week as we take a break for Hari Raya. We'll be back on air on the 27th September. Selamat Hari Raya everyone! Drive safe.

  1. This show is good, but few comments:
    1) 30 minute is too short to cover summary report and interview plus advertisements, should make the show longer, say 1 hour.

    2) 11.30pm seems too late for most people, should re-schedule it to say 9pm or 10pm.

    3) The show should make it daily instead of weekly.

    Keep up the good works.

    1) 30 minutes is what Maybank paid for and it is the only quality programme of its kind on the stock markets and the economy in Malaysia. It is of sufficient length for investors to get a feel for what the markets & economies are doing.

    2) Maybank also paid for the programme to be at that time. As I understand the viewership figures are about 250,000 even at 11.30pm, this far supercedes more established shows on TV3. In my opinion, the show is a success.

    3) Maybank is in the business of providing banking, investment banking and stock broking services to our valued clients. It is not in the business of running daily market equity and economic TV programmes. A weekly show should suffice.

Thanks for watching and your comments.
